That's funny....loved the Honeymooners. Bet you start looking at your whistles.

Funny but true. When I teach my beginning whistle classes I talk about moisture. Fact of nature especially in metal whistles. How to clear. 1. Tap the whistle on your pants leg. 2. Cover the windway and blow. 3. Never "Bless" the audience by shaking your whistle at them. Last....suck it up. It's your moisture. Won't kill you. You should see the look on their faces.

But I didn't make this up. Read it on a whistle site. Think about it. You whistle clogs in the middle of a tune. Tap? Cover and blow? Bless? Nope....suck it up Buttercup.....more to follow.

Yikes I'm glad to hear there is no need for me to fear super fast mold growing grossness!

That reminds me of a funny old "Honeymooners" tv episode where Ralph Kramden was accusing his wife Alice of stealing money from his pants pocket.  Alice replied with her hand on hip: "Ralph the only thing I've ever gotten from your pockets is ten pounds of lint."   lolol

Good thing you didn't suck up the lint clog and have it lodge in your lungs- could have meant a trip to the hospital!  eek

Naw...fuzz. I carry my whistles in the second portion of a two dulcimer bag. And I might put them in my back pocket while setting up. The whistle is a Becker A PVC whistle. I love it. $15.00. Great bang for the buck. And I have a high end A whistle. Over $200.00

Check your whistle before you play. We played a gig yesterday and I played my A whistle. Red is The Rose. I had practiced it 30 min before leaving. But when I got my whistle out and played, I knew something was wrong. I struggled thru...After we finished I looked down the windway. Yup...whistle fuzz.
